A new way to experience material

Quantum’s new Auckland showroom has been created with one clear purpose. To make material selection more intuitive, informed and considered.

Located in Newmarket’s growing design precinct, the space brings together natural stone, tile, cork and landscaping materials in a way that reflects how they are used in real projects. Rather than relying on small samples, surfaces are presented at scale, allowing designers and clients to properly understand tone, texture and finish in context.

While Quantum has built its reputation over more than 20 years supplying premium surfaces, this showroom signals a natural progression. A broader, more refined offering paired with a stronger focus on how materials are experienced, not just specified.

The space has been carefully developed to support this. Initial concepts by Katie Scott of Sticks + Stones Design were further shaped in-house, resulting in a series of layered, architectural displays that feel both cohesive and exploratory.

As you move through the showroom, materials shift in tone and application. Large-format stone sits alongside detailed tile work. Travertine paving connects interior and exterior zones. Moments of greenery soften the harder finishes and introduce contrast. Each area offers a different perspective, encouraging comparison and discovery.

Plumbline pieces are integrated throughout, helping to demonstrate how surfaces interact with form, colour and function. Tile applications extend beyond expected areas, offering new ways to think about how materials can be used across a project.

The result is a space that balances inspiration with practicality. One that supports better decisions, clearer specifications and more resolved design outcomes.
